Hey everyone! It's a Bloggy Giveaway Carnival! Basically what that means is that HUNDREDS (literally I'm #459) of blogs are giving stuff away this next week. All you have to do to win is leave a comment with your name and email on the posts. I'd love it if in your comment you'd tell me what you like about my blog and if there's anything that would make it more enticing to read. Thanks! :)
So here's what I'm giving away. Seeing as I'm a teacher and this blog is called Lessons Learned, I'm giving away my three favorite children's books (ok, there are way more than 3, but these are definitely at the top of my list. And I know it said five. I lied. Or spoke too soon. Either way, sorry!). This is a tough one, but here's what will be included:
1.
The Judge: An Untrue Tale (ages 4-8)
2.
The Tale of Desperaux (ages 9-12)
3.
The Giver (young teens)
Winner will be announced Apri 27. Comments will be closed on April 26th at midnight! Happy commenting :)
While you're here, here are a few of my favorite past posts:

What a wonderful giveaway! I have a 4 year old granddaughter and these books would be a great gift to give to her. :-)
I'm in seminary at Southeastern Baptist getting my Masters of Divinity in Christian Ministry. It's just a general seminary degree and I don't particularly plan on using it in the traditional sense, but will of ourse be using what I learn in all sorts of unofficial ways. I like your blog!
I've never heard of the first two books you've mentioned. I did greatly enjoy the Giver when I was a kid!

I like your passport story. Thanks for having the giveaway!
Wonderful! :)
I have been wanting to purchase The Tale of Desperauex for my kids. I have heard it was a great story.
As for your blog...in these giveaways, it is usually an in and out situation. Of the hundreds I see, during each giveaway session, there are only a rare few that catch my eye (or funny bone or whatever), that I choose to add to my blog roll to come back to. Yours is one (of only two thus far) that I have chosen to add this time around. It doesn't mean the other blogs aren't wonderful, but I only have so much time to read blogs and have to be very selective. Your blog caught my interest enough that I want to come back and check it out again later when the frenzy subsides. I think it was the piece about George Clooney that really got me. That was hilarious. I noticed a few similarities between us and I like that you have a sense of humour that makes your blog worth a second look for me.
I would love to be entered in your giveaway.

Jen, your blog is so much fun to read! I love all your Pre-K stories . . . if only all of us had work environments that were that entertaining! I've only heard of "The Giver" on your list (and have read it - it is soooo good!), so I will have to pick those other 2 up if I don't win your giveaway!
Do you love Carrie Underwood? I love that song your title is from. I love to read and am trying to help my 4 kids to love it too. Hope I win!

Thanks for the giveaway! I love your "Just Another Week In Pre-K" post. I laughed out loud! Especially since my 4yo daughter is really on a rhyming kick lately, I could really picture the exact same situation happening all too easily! I'd love to win this set of books to have on hand as my daughter grows older. :)

That sounds awesome. I haven't heard of the first one.
Hi there! I'm a runner too, and I wish I had an answer as to why some days are easier than others. I wonder if it has to do with recovery & exertion?
Anyway, I haven't read any of those books, although I've been meaning to read The Giver for awhile now.
I think 4 year olds are just about the most wonderful aged kids ever. I enjoy reading about your adventures with them.
Thanks for hosting such a fun giveaway.

What I like about your blog-I'm a kindergarten teacher and it's always fun to read other teacher's 'kid' stories!
Great books! Thanks for the giveaway!
Great gift, thanks!
Love the slide show. Love the blog on pre-k bras. I totally related. My 9 year old wants a bra. Why? Because her second grade friend has a bra. My daughter has explained that she could even stuff her bra. I think that I will get her some helly roller shoes instead.
I love your blog...just found it but I'll be back because you make me laugh. Being a retired teacher I can really appreciate some of the comments. I really miss them. Pre-k size bras truly cracked me up.
I'd love to win your giveaway since my daughter's dear friend is just beginning her career as a teacher and is starting her own personal collection and I would give them to her.
Thanks for a great giveaway! I hope I'm the lucky winner! :)
